StencilClub Voices take on Mary Beth's Private Collection 16.3

Our Voices, Lisa Dobry, Sherry Canino, and Trena Lyn Brannon are back this month to tickle your imagination with diverse projects using:

Painting and Art Journal Doodles

Hi! Trena Lyn here. MaryBeth's design inspired me to step out of my comfort zone. I had fun creating on a an 11 x  14" canvas. You can visit my blog post to see more photos and all the supplies I used. Thank you so much MaryBeth for inviting me to share!

I also did a little doodlin' in my art journal after watching MaryBeth's video on doodlin'.  I just had to play with the technique! I used the July 6x6" and 4x4" stencils, along with a few of my favorite 6x6" stencils: Ornamental Compass Screen
and Scribble Blooms as well as June 2016 StencilClub Sand & Sea

School Binder

Hello StencilGirl enthusiasts! I’m Lisa Dobry, and I’m so excited to be here with you as a Voice of StencilClub, July 2016.
When my club stencils, Private Collection 16.3 by Mary Beth Shaw, arrived early for the Voices project, my daughter was with me when I dumped them out on the table. She absolutely loved the 9x12 and immediately stated she wanted these to be her binder theme for next year. (Surprising her with a “one of a kind” binder each school year has become our special tradition.)

Now I just heard a few of you out there in StencilGirl land say, “That’s cute, but too girly I have a boy.” Fear not! The video also gives a glimpse of last year’s project, which with a bit of a color modification would Rock ‘it for any boy!

Come join Olivia and I in the creative process of 5th Grade, "Fly Free", as well as a look at the inside pockets and folders. In addition, I will show you a few helpful construction tips:

The photo below doesn’t completely show the details, but under the 4x4 StencilClub stencil there is gorgeous texture.  I mono-printed layers of Golden’s Titan Buff and Primary Yellow using Mary Beth’s MB Makes Marks Pipette and MB Makes Marks Marker. If you don’t own these two stencils already, put them on your “Must Have” list! You won’t be disappointed.

Thank you for joining me today for Stencil Club Voices, July 2016. I really enjoyed the opportunity to put this piece and the video together and hope you enjoyed it as well. We have a lot of fun in Stencil Club, if you aren’t already a member; I encourage you to take a look at joining us. Now, go grab your stencils and paint; make it an art day!
