Stenciled Clipboards with Jessica Sporn and StencilClub

Hi - Jessica Sporn here to show how I decorated a plain old clipboard with the cool designs for November StencilClub designed by Mary Beth Shaw.

I’ve had this clipboard on my worktable for some time.  I covered the front and back with book pages and some punched shapes, and then gave the whole thing a light coat of gesso.

I gave the whole piece a light coat of Key Lime Pie and Neptune Blue Acrylic Craft Paint (the cheap stuff!) diluted with water.  Then I used the 9 x 12 from Nov. Stencil Club and some Transparent Pyrrole Orange Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint to stencil next to the flowers.  The stencil reminds me of lattice!  I used Posca Markers to doodle on the flowers.

I flipped the clipboard over, and used Phthalo Turquouis and a cosmetic sponge to pounce through the big stencil.  I went over the center of the design with the little stencil, using tags to mask off where I didn’t want color to go, in order to get a stripe effect down the middle of the clipboard.  I used the mid-sized squares from the small stencil with white, to play the the “positives” and “negatives” of these cool shapes.  Then, using Hansa Yellow Medium Golden Fluid Acrylics, I pounced over the back using the 6 x 6 square stencil.  After, I covered the entire back with Glazing Medium.

Then I proceeded to have a doodle party with myself!

I love my little clipboard!
Hope this post gave you some ideas for using the November StencilClub stencils.
They are so much fun and I see so many uses for them!
Thanks for having me on the blog today StencilGirl!
