May StencilClub Inspiration!

Hi, everyone! Mary Nasser here today to show you what I did with the
EXCLUSIVE May 2015 StencilClub stencils designed by Mary Beth Shaw!

It’s always such a delight to get stencils Mary Beth has created for her own Private Collection
that are made available only to StencilClub members!

I had lots of fun embellishing my art journal covers with all three of these stencils!

Using techniques I learned in Cover Story, I layered vintage papers, gesso, acrylics, Sharpie Mean Streak, hand-carved stamps and inks with the fabulous shapes and patterns of these stencils to embellish the covers.

Being the end of the school year, it was especially fun to collage this 1918 vintage report card
onto the large art journal cover!

Below is a detail of the small art journal cover, too:

And I couldn't stop there! I'm using these stencils inside my art journals, too.
Below is one spread from my small art journal:

  4. Oh Mary! I Beautiful! I love your color choices and I get excited when I see anything DLP and SG together….two of my innocent obsessions that I indulge in whenever I can. I can't wait for my club stencils to arrive - and I have been wanting to get the smaller sized journal, now I'm inspired and will get my order in so that hopefully it will arrive concurrently with my stencils. Thanks for the ideas! And I absolutely love how these stencils pair with the new stamps from DLP…so exciting!
