Art Journaling with August Stencil Club Stencils

Hi, everyone! Jessica Sporn here today to show you what I did with the
EXCLUSIVE August 2015 StencilClub stencils designed by Terri Stegmiller!

I started with a page in my journal on which I had previously used up extra paint.  I had intended to journal in these stripes, but decided to use the page for Terri's stencils instead.

I stenciled with gesso using the 9 x 12.  I already loved this page - it has such a beachy feel!

I added some bursts of color with the 4 x 4.  I see a fireworks spread someday with this stencil!

I love the lacy feel of the 6 x 6.  But I wanted to get the imprints of the plastic, and not the negative space.  So I filled a plate with a black glaze, and dipped the stencil into it.

Then I "stamped" my art journal page with the inked stencil.

Once the black dried, I painted inside the black outlines with various glazes.

I had been saving this tissue paper for a while.  I "cut out" some of the flowers (instead of a scissor, paint around the areas with a thin brush dipped in water.  Then it's easy to tear out your elements without creating hard edges), and adhered them with matte medium.

I used the 4 x 4 stencil and some white paint to add some details to the flowers, and used the 9 x 12 to calm down the background a bit.

Time for some journaling, and done!

You are going to LOVE these stencils!!
