Folk Art Inspired DIY Pillow

Hi and Happy Tuesday!

Tina Walker here today with a super quick and easy DIY Home Decor project: a stenciled pillow, folk art inspired.

I simply adore making handmade pillows. I display them throughout my home and it combines my love for making pretty things with creating unique home decor items. Making DIY pillows is really easy and so fun!

Grab the following supplies and let's go!

your favorite StencilGirl stencil
fabric paints
muslin or vintage feedsack fabric
embroidery floss
quilt fabric scraps
polyfill stuffing
sewing machine

Measure and cut your fabric to match your design and the size of polyfill.

I used fabric paint and Jessica Sporn's On the Farm stencil on linen fabric:

Tips:  Make sure your stencil is dry before you reverse the sheep.

To embellish, stitch quilt scraps and add a little embroidery to the stars.

Turn your dry, stenciled fabric inside out and use your sewing machine to sew straight seams on 3 sides. Turn the fabric right side out, stuff your pillow and sew the final seam.

Prefer a video tutorial?  I created a short how-to!  Enjoy!

I told ya it was easy and quick to create a DIY pillow.

How do you like to use StencilGirl stencils in your Home Decor projects? I'd love to hear (and see) what you've created.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a beautifully creative day!
