    A Daisy of a Mask

Hello friends, Wendy here with another textile project for you... This time with a face mask. I have an inexpensive one here that I want to spruce up.

I did not want to stencil this in a flat state (wrinkles were getting in the way) so I had some scrap quilt batting that I bundled up and placed in the mask making it pretty round and squishy.

Doing this made the wrinkles go away, you could also use a paper towel, toilet paper etc. whatever you have on hand.

Next I used a sponge and applied white gesso through the Tossed Blossom Stencil by Terri Stegmiller

I chose Golden Gesso but any white paint that you have on hand will do. I didn't worry about adding textile medium since this is a mask and doesn't have to hold up to a lot of rough wear.

For the centers, I freehanded Hansa Yellow Medium by golden but again, use any yellow you have on hand.

I also took this opportunity to clean up any of the petals that may not have stenciled properly. Easy peasy since the outline was already there.

With a black 1.5 Fudeball pen I then outlined the petals and the centers for all the flowers. Use whatever you have just be sure it is a permanent ink.

Here it is all done, isn't it so cute now? I think so and will wear it with pride :)

Thank you for joining me today and if you would like to do something like this on a bigger scale check out my post I did in November here.
