Nathalie Kalbch's StencilGirl Stencil Hop--Typewriter

Hi it's Maria!
Welcome to the Nathalie Kalbach Stencil Hop with the Typewriter stencil she designed for StencilGirl! I thought I'd do my post over here today instead of my own blog to let all you StencilGirl Fans in on the fun!

Maria McGuire Stencil

My inspiration for this art journal page came from just looking at my life right now.
I am CRAZY busy--most days I don't know which end is up, but you know what I can do it all, LOL! and it is ALL good stuff!

I started with layers and layers and layers of tape on my journal page alternating different colors of paint as I went. Before I started with the stencil, I created a little pocket and then painted over it for yet another layer.

I used acrylic paint to stencil the typewriter on and then added some doodling. The last step was to write some notes to myself about what was whirling around in my head. Art journaling is a great way to get somethings out of your brain when you are stressed :)

Thanks Nat for having me hop with you!
Now it is time for you to go see what the other artists did with the typewriter stencil.
But before you do, make sure you leave a comment here because I hear that Nathalie is giving away a typewriter stencil to one lucky winner and EVERY comment in the hop will be eligible to win.
The more times you comment, the more chances you have to win!

Here is your hop list!

Make sure you come back tomorrow!
Jessica Sporn will be here Guest Designing!

  22. hi maria, what a great idea using tape, i have been thinking alot about tape lately because i have not been able to afford the wasi tapes everyone uses and they are so cute, but the light went on the other day to use plain household tapes and decorate them, now you used plain tape so that confirms my idea! tx for sharing, i told you following your bloghops i just keep on learning new little tricks! aloha, angi in hana
