"I love these stencils and they are so easy to use to create a beautiful background," Jessica says.
Project 1: Bible Journaling
"I used Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks to run on a sheet of paper placed on top of the stencil. I tore the strips and glued them down to create a background for my collage."
2: This is an art journal mixed media page in which I used acrylic paint to create a background with the May stencils. I did add Distress Oxide in Walnut to the edges using the stencil and splattered with water to create a textured look.
3: “Outnumbered” Art journal mixed media spread in which I used canvas pages and acrylic paint with the stencil. I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays to soften the lines. The collage was made with extra paper and the smaller two stencils with an acrylic paint base and Distress Oxide stenciled portion.

I write for a living, so overwriting and scribbling does not come naturally. The flowing Script stencils Cecilia Swatton designed forced me gently out of my comfort zone. I added handmade washi tape someone made me, and some cut up pics. I was in a happy zone by the time I finished.
