Need a Quick Card?

StencilGirl Talk

Hi it's Maria! How about a quick project today? I'm using one of my FAVORITE stencils from StencilGirl. It is called Cup of Joe by Jamie Fingal. It is no secret that I am a huge coffee lover. When Jamie came out with this stencil I knew I had to get my hands on it!

Have you ever found yourself needing a quick card? Well even if you aren't a cardmaker you can make this! My base is an old piece of scrapbook paper that I was cleaning a brayer off on over and over. Yes, you may notice it is a piece of Christmas paper :) This is a great way to get rid of all that paper laying around.

I found the section of painted paper I liked the best and used black acrylic with the stencil.

I used a piece I cut off to stamp the word coffee for a sentiment.

The card base and mat were also from scraps in my scrap bin. The card base was 10" x 7" which when folded in half gives you a 5" x 7" card. The black mat was cut to 4 3/4" x 6 3/4". The coffee cup fits right on top of that--perfect!

A little stitching around the edges and there you have it--a quick and easy card with an awesome stencil. Who wouldn't want to get asked to have coffee like that??!!

Thanks for stopping by the Blog today!
Stop back on Friday, my friend Corrine Gilman will be here with another tutorial for you!
