StencilGirl Guest Designer...Heidi Bound

Today we have a Guest Designer, Heidi Bound, who is a member of our monthly StencilClub from StencilGirl. Take it away Heidi!

I am so happy to be here today to show you what I did with one of the stencils that came in my monthly StencilClub.
When the stencils arrived in May, I immediately saw trees. Tree roots, tree bark and tree rings. My friend Pat got hers and saw spider webs! I love when people see things differently. That certainly provides more opportunities for creativity.

Pat's vision certainly helped me with a bit of a scary challenge...

I participate in an International Round Robin with some wonderful artists that I met on Facebook. We each have a journal and came up with our unique themes-no rules except to work on the journals and mail them off to the next person within a month. The journals set off about a year ago and are soon coming home to their owners. My style is very "girly"-sometimes vintage, sometimes bright. But almost always quite feminine! When I received the latest journal, I froze! The theme was "In the Crypt"! I slept on it and then remembered Pat's thoughts on the stencil. I started digging through some clip art images and found this one of the skeleton...yep, still pretty girly.

I used the May 2013 StencilClub tree ring stencil to create the background of this page!

Tons of spraying of Glimmer Mists and Dylusions sprays and a layer of Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray. I knew I needed some tombstones so I stamped on Shrinky Dink plastic and shrunk them down. I added some strange fibers and black roses! Perfect. Feminine yet it fit the theme. Isn't it amazing how one stencil can be the starting point to an entire art journal creation?

A BIG thank you to Heidi for stopping by today!
