~Words To Live By~
Hi, I'm Sherri Welser and I absolutely love the stencil selection at StencilGirlProducts and am very thrilled to be a guest designer this month! Creating journal pages is always so fun and something that can be done in stages not needing a lot of time, space or supplies. I love to just go through my journal and  being able to visually engage with all the colors, textures and meaning that I have created on the pages! Finding a small place in the garden or other inspirational space to do artwork will help stir that creative energy pulling you forward and helping you to put “your mark” to the page! Sometimes it just takes a splash of color on a white page and laying a stencil  down to  move you into that positive art mode! Well that is exactly what I did for this fun colorful project for StencilGirl. So grab you art journal and let’s create some artsy love!

Cover journal page with a coat of gesso and let dry. Randomly spray light and dark shades of Dylusions spray ink.

When dry place the Intersection stencil on the top  and bottom of the page and use a dominate color to apply spray onto the stencil. Then overlap your stencil designs in the middle with the Layered Salad stencil and spray ink randomly on top. You now have a beautiful base for the 1 step!

Next, I used the Words To Live By stencil. To prepare the bead gel medium mix about 3 T of the bead gel with a small amount of the white and Interference paint and apply over the stencil on the page with a palette knife and form a smooth thin layer on top.

Pull up the stencil and let page dry… You now have a beautiful journal page in no time at all that combines bright colors, texture and creativity!
