Take it away Jamie!

Hi, I'm Jamie Fingal. I am a fiber artist and my main medium is fabric and thread and maybe a zipper or two.  I also paint with watercolors, and design fabric for Hoffman California Fabrics.  I am so excited about my new line of stencils and I hope you will be too.  There are so many possibilities for these designs to be used.
One of my most common motifs in my work are houses, and I they have become one of my signature styles over the years.  These are all 6x6 stencils, and these are the projects that I made with them.

I call this my patchwork house.  I stenciled it a few times on different pieces of fabric with Jacquard Textile Medium.  It has so many possibilities!

Funky house in the middle with Cup of Joe stencils, minus the saucers.

My art quilt "Airstream Dreaming" made the cover of Quilting Arts Magazine in June/July 2013 - and this is the inspiration from my trailer series for StencilGirl.

9x12 stencil on watercolor paper, using acrylic paint and panted with watercolors.  This would make a sweet invitation!

6x6 trailers on watercolor paper with acrylic paint for the outline and painted with watercolors.  These could be used individually, or together.

Art quilt with the 6x6 trailers.  I used Jacquard Textile Paint on batik fabric.  Hand embroidered with straight stitch around the trailer blocks.  The perfect summer get-away!

The next group of stencils is based on this art quilt that features 20 dresses on it separated by zippers.  The dresses were cut out free-hand with a pair of scissors.  Readers of my blog have asked for a pattern for this quilt.  Now, they can buy the 9x12 stencil and create their own quilt with the dresses!  Woot!

This art quilt uses the 9x12 stencil of the dresses, and the 9x12 stencil of the stitches and measuring tape, and the vintage alphabet.  I used Jacquard Textile Paint in black.

The look of vintage printing on pages of reduced pattern backs, on kraft tags, using acrylic paint, and tying black and white polka dot ribbon through the hole at the top.  Also used the 9x12 stitches stencil

Here we have the Little Black Dress.  The stitches and measuring tape from the 9x12 stencil - I used white acrylic paint on 1 inch wide bias tape.  I really like the look of this art quilt.  Fun, bright and sort of vintage. So, there you have it!  I hope these projects will inspire you to create some really unique art!

I will have even more ideas for you over on my blog HERE.
