Here we are at the start of another year. Mind blowing, isn't it? Remember when we were kids, the adults always said that time would start to fly and that is indeed true. I don't know about you, but I tend to go a tad crazy this time of year; my type A personality seeks organization in every aspect of my life from the business to art to my sock drawer. It isn't pretty. I typically have 4-6 organizational systems going, trying to juggle them all to achieve.......well, who knows what I am attempting to achieve?
Today I want to take a slight departure from my usual 'stencil talk' and instead share my ideas about how I attempt to carve out daily creative time for myself and how I have made a little space to call my own.
It is my wish for all of us, that 2016 is the year we achieve daily creative fulfillment in our busy lives.
Happy New Year!!!
But where do all your stencils go?
ReplyDeleteAnnie, did you see the stencils on the wall? I add to that batch all the time :)

ReplyDeleteThis idea for PCV pipes cut into sections for pen storage is sheer genius! Many of my pens are supposed to be stored flat, not vertically, but until I watched this video, I had no good ideas for managing this. Now, thanks to you, MaryBeth, I know just what I want to do!!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right!?! Bolt them together for strength as I've tried gluing them and have yet to find a glue that will hold. And I wanna see what you make :)
DeleteHappy New Year Mary Beth, this is just what I needed this morning. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Glenda. Happy New Year sweet girl!! xo
DeleteThank you for the tour. This is a great area to work. I do bet when you pull out those suitcases it gets a little crazy! Lice that you carved out a space in your living area. Looking forward to a wonderful New Year and wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, seriously, there are times when you can't even walk thru the room, perhaps that's for another movie ;)
DeleteThanks for that! Great advice and things to think about. You are good. Happy 2016!
ReplyDeleteThanks for watching Lori :)
DeleteI'm sure I'm not alone in having only a tiny space in which to create - no studio, no whole room dedicated to art making. My space is a small den, jam packed with the things I enjoy - my wall-to-wall books, my art supplies, my entertainment. It's not ideal but I make it work because it's all I have. Thank you for sharing and showing us that art making does not have to be constrained by the space you have. Love all the nifty ways you house your supplies. Happy 2016!
ReplyDeletethanks for the tour MB!
ReplyDeleteI am SO surprised that you don't have more STUFF with all that you do!! Wow, I have a space twice your size and it is crammed to the gills, and I mean I have everything for just about EVERY medium including an encaustic station. You must have tremendous resolve when it comes to purchasing supplies and trying new things. Or do you have an outside studio as well???
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit into your work space. What is the wall rack that the stencils are hanging on? It's smaller than the big Clip It rack system you've shown before. It seems like a compact way to have the stencils at hand without taking up lots of floor acreage. I'm also tickled to hear that you have TV sometimes when working. Happy New Year to you!
