Carolyn Dube here sharing a message I received from my muse
recently. Open. Open your heart? No. Open your mind? No. I
have a very practical muse some days. Open was a reminder to me to open
up the paint and start playing.
But there were all these grown up "shoulds" that
I should have been doing. Instead, I played and had so
much more fun!
It started with a clean up page from a previous Gelli® printing session and my Wall of Words stencil.
There was nothing special about this page -- a mess plus it
didn't have nearly enough color for my taste. But that would change.
I just wrote that I wanted more color so what paint did I grab?
White. That was the impulse the muse sent me when I grabbed my Circular Patterns for Play and
since I trust my muse, I stenciled white. Of course I had my eye on the
yellow paint near by...
Now the color began with the Basket stencil by Daniella Woolf.
It started with yellow, but before long the whole rainbow will be
involved in some way.
To add more color, I traced some of the shapes from the Circular Patterns for Play stenciling
with a Stabilo Mr. Woody pencil.
Mary Beth's Classic Stencil Font
Alphabet was a quick and easy way to add words. I added
whatever words and numbers popped into my mind.
What did I scribble write there? It's an illegible version of
thank you to my muse for prompting me to take a few minutes to open up my
supplies and play.
So now comes the big question. What am I going to do with it?
Will I cut it up? Will I make it art journal pages? Only my muse
knows but when she is ready to tell me where it goes next, I will definitely be
listening!
You always have so much fun and freedom and make me smile!
