Dog Days of Summer - with Natalie May

Hey guys!

I was super excited to create for the inspiration theme "Dog Days of Summer".
Anyone who follows me on Facebook or Instagram, will be familiar with the four-legged May family member, Macy the Bulldog.

Macy is a two-year-old Australian Bulldog. She's like a toddler having a tantrum in a shopping mall - all the time! Full of energy, standard naughty puppy and has a dominant stubborn bulldog streak to her - but she is super cute!

But she certainly has a face only a mother could love!
So I decided to scrap it - create a layout focusing on Macy!.

I started with the photo - cause that's what scrapbooking is all about - then grabbed my new fave stencil - Wheel in the Sky designed by Kae Pea.

Using a nice white Modeling Paste, I used the stencil to add a thin layer to the flat white cardstock. Drying between layers, I moved the stencil around to make sure I added pattern around the page.

Once dry, I used Lindys Stamp Gangs sprays to completely cover the background. Starting with the lightest colour, Yellow Rose of Texas then adding Hags Wart Orange next then Hibiscus Pink.

Because I wanted to keep this layout super simple, I made the stencil and the colour the hero and keep the paper layering basic with some bold lettering for the title ... again, it;s all about the photo!

Here's a short process video for you!

I hope you like my take on the Inspiration for the month ... keeping it all about the photo!

Cheers,
Natalie
