#thestencilfiedjournal Project

Hello and Happy Monday and welcome to a new, creative week!  Tina Walker here today with a new StencilGirl® Columnist post.

Today, we are all about collaborations and my latest one is a fave!  #thestencilfiedjournal Project kicked off on June 4th and is still going strong.  The idea behind the collaboration is simple.  Each week, I share a Stencilfied prompt, that uses StencilGirl® stencils in fun, innovative, and sometimes destructive ways. I gathered a group of stencil-lovin' souls and began!

I know I've said this before, but I am always amazed at the broad range of diversity and creativity when given either the same set of products or ideas.  I just love how the mind thinks and interprets these things differently and how they make their way on paper.  #thestencilfiedjournal participants used a variety of journals - field journals, normal journals, and tags.  I was blown away by the enthusiasm and joy each Monday when a new prompt was revealed and I found myself extremely excited as well.

If you are on Instagram and would like to see some of the wonderful ways the participants used the prompts, search for #thestencilfiedjournal in the 'tags' area.  You will find a large assortment of finished pages and spreads.

I also thought it would be fun to share a favorite from each prompt, as well as the StencilGirl® stencils used.  Without further adieu....

And guess what?  There are still more prompts yet to be revealed!  You can still play along - besides the prompts listed above, you can also check out my Facebook page or Instagram Feed for all of the future prompts.  But no need to stop playing along with the prompts end, start all over with a new journal and use the prompts in different ways.  Endless days of creativity!

As I described above, I had SO much fun with this collaboration!  Not only organizing and hosting it, but playing along!  Although I created each prompt, there were several that really stretched my creative thinking, which I thoroughly enjoyed!    As a special treat, I thought it would be fun to see my entire journal, shared in a short video.  Nothing beats the video visual over a flat image!

(p.s. - you may also see the future prompts in my journal - hint hint)

Thank you so much for allowing me to share in my collaboration excitement!  Till next time!

xoxo Tina

  1. Thank you so much Tina for hosting this collab! It had been so much fun!!! I love to hold my little journal in my hands too, the size is just perfect! And you're right: 21 weeks is a long time, but in a journal this size, it's not that hard to keep up. I was actually glad that there were more prompts than fitted into the journal. It means my journal is filled to the brim and that is just so cool! I'm definitely going to keep working in this format and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way to make art journaling a daily or a weekly habit!
