Kirsten Varga - November StencilClub Stencils

Hello, Creatives! Kirsten here with a fun project using the exclusive November StencilClub designs by Nancy Curry and Mary Beth Shaw! These stencils are called "Honoring Hundertwasser".

Hundertwasser was an Austrian artist who worked with bright colors, organic forms, and a connection with nature. When I was an elementary school art teacher he was a favorite artist to explore and my students loved creating art inspired by him.

Instead of creating a book this month, I decided to create several whimsical neighborhood compositions. These playful pieces can be applied to greeting cards, canvases, and, of course, books!

I had fun layering and assembling the little neighborhoods. Mary Beth's bold designs are perfect for layering and Nancy's houses and trees have many options for variety and whimsy.

Check out my video tutorial below for all the details:

  1. these are adorable. such fun but quite a bit of work, esp the fussy cutting. great way to use these stencils together . I tend to use my stencils one at a time forgetting they can be combined on one page. silly me.
