Kirsten Varga - March StencilClub Stencils

Hello Creatives! Welcome back for another bookmaking adventure with me, Kirsten! I am so happy you are here! This month's stencils are a great combination! You get a detailed stencil full of inspirational words strung together in a beautiful cursive. The other is full of simple, graphic images of writing utensils and affirmations.

These stencils inspired me to create a custom Traveler's Notebook. This book structure is inspired by the Midori Traveler's Notebook. The main use for this type of book is the ability to carry many booklets together and to switch them out when desired.

My booklets are filled with drawing and sketching paper and have covers mono-printed with my GelliArts® printing plate, acrylic paints and bubble wrap. I used the detailed words stencil with spray inks to create a dynamic layer on top. The final layer was a focal point added with the simple shapes of pencils, crayons and pens. I used a saddle-stitch stapler to bind them.

These booklets nestle nicely in my cover made from veg-tan leather and round elastic.

Check out my process below for all the details! Happy Creating!

  2. I enjoy and look forward each month to see what you do with the featured stencils. I nearly always am more inspired by them than the featured video. I am a book artist and I frequently reference your videos. Thanks 👍😁
