I journal every day- sometimes I don't have the time to make a full art spread on top, but I always start my day with gratitude, manifestation and limiting belief clearing. It helps me disconnect with everything that isn't real (those limiting beliefs are really big stories!!), and connect to my real self, and connect to a higher purpose, god, universal source, etc.
Today I began with my writing, then I used my Tattered Angels Shimmer Spray in coffee and raspberry, spraying and blending over the whole spread.
Then I grabbed my L051 Little Sister stencil by Judy Wise with some mica powders. I used my Versamark ink pad and applied it through the stencil so that the mica powder would stick.
Then I grabbed three different colors of mica powder so I could blend them throughout the image.
When I pulled up the stencil, I found that while the stenciled image was beautiful, I knew it wasn't exactly as I had imagined, and wanted the image to pop out a bit more. So I found my ArtsyVille Metallic Paste and used a small spatula to apply it though the stencil, right on top of the mica powder. The mica started to blend with the paste, and it really looked amazing after it dried. Look at the dimension!
One of the things that I do to help maintain my sanity is to connect with nature, I love to ride my bike, walk and hike every week. My soul is freed when I can forget about the pressures of my day, breathe in the quiet and take in all of the colors and textures nature has to offer. I found some Iron Orchid Design lavender transfers in my stash and knew they were just the thing to add to this spread.
Lastly, I added the words "soul whispers" to the upper right hand corner. I often find that when I am creating, the perfect word, phrase or poem just shows up at the right time. In this case, the girl represents me, the words underneath everything represent the whispers of my soul, and the colors, flowers and cut out words brought it all together. A perfect ending to a great exploration in my journal.
