I bought these simple little bedside lamps from an online big-box store but knew I wanted to alter them to go with my shabby, distress style room.
I first sprayed Pixie Spray onto Squares Overlapping following the can instructions.
Next, I sponged Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg Blue onto the lampshade. I have used this on furniture in my bedroom but also knew it would stencil awesome because of it's thicker consistency.
I kept moving all around the lampshade being sure to pounce and not rub :)
Here it is after the first coat, I did decide to do two coats.
Next, I applied Pixie Spray to Squares Overlapping Filled and lined it up with the already stenciled Squares Overlapping
I have chosen to use Annie Sloan Old White this time for a subtle white compared to the shade's bright white. Again being sure to pounce and not rub the paint on.
Here is the shade completed. I love it!
I also decided to distress the base a little, too. I am really happy with the distressed look of the chalk paint and think I have chosen the perfect stencil for a modern distress look.
