Hey everybody, Linda Cain here! My turn to play with StencilGirl Stencils, and this is the PERFECT stencil for me! I LOVED it at first sight!

It's from Lizzie Mayne and it's called Tribal Hand. I used the Large one for this page.

I started by adding white gesso to a journal page. When that is dry, I use Cut-n-Dry foam squares to add Fresco Chalk Paints for by background.

The white gesso makes the bright colors stay really vivid, which is what I was going for here.

The next layer is Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the gorgeous stencil. Since this is an ink that can be used to emboss, I then added clear embossing powder and embossed with a heat tool.

This angle shows the shine on the embossing.

Then I placed the stencil back over the image and stamped various script stamps with black permanent ink. Heat set to dry completely.

I used markers to add more color and shading throughout the page.

White acrylic paint and permanent inks are used to add other stenciled images to fill in the background.

I used Kae Pea's Midcentury Modern Elements #1 6x6 Stencil, and Andrew Borlos' Large Diamond 6 stencils for another layer. The bright blue, brown and dark green stamped images are rolled to fill in areas.

I outlined the hand and added a shadow to make it pop.

The last thing I do is add some Calligraphy around the Hand and edge with a few bold stamped images.
