Hi! Mary Nasser here again to show you what I
did with leftover paint on my palette from Thursday’s tote bag project!
I painted these art journal pages and wanted to share:
These pages had previously been gessoed with Whisper
Green Matisse Background Colors.
(Thank you, Mary Beth, for suggesting this in
your March webinar!)
With the leftover Permanent Red Violet and Turquoise Green heavy body acrylics
from painting my tote,
I added Maria McGuire’s Loopy Doily, Seeds and Tiny Medallion on my pages – along with the word summer!
using Carolyn Dube’s Vintage Typewriter
Alphabet stencil.
I added more heavy body acrylic in Brilliant Green, Brilliant Blue and Azo Yellow Medium…
and even some Wendy Vecchi Cornflower Blue Ink with a cosmetic sponge. It was so fun to play!
I think Maria’s stencil designs are really brilliant
– the way she puts so much thought into how one can use just parts of the
stencil.
I loved putting the petals from the Loopy Doily around the Seeds
stencil and just using the very center of the Loopy Doily stencil, too!
And I’m
in LOVE with Carolyn’s Vintage Typewriter Alphabet stencil…now I can create any word I’d like in that
wonderful vintage font!
Below is a detail of
the work:
All the time Martin Sexton's song Happy and its lyrics were going through my head:
I think I'm happy
Like
the first day of summer vacation
Happy
when I get some rest and relaxation
Today is my first day of summer vacation!!
Wishing you a Happy
Summer!
