Hand Made Christmas Ornaments with StencilGirl Stencils

Hello Stencil Lovers!

I know you are all busy with holiday preparations and festivities going on....

What an exciting and exhausting time of year!

If you need a break from all the hubbub, 

sit down with the Rose Window Stencil and some fabric markers or paints.

It's easy...here is how I did it....

I taped the stencil down onto some white muslin fabric

and pulled out my beloved Fabrico Markers.

I made a variety then cut them out free hand...

then cut some red wool just slightly larger to back it with.

They are so pretty! I am in love with this stencil!

The middle star kind of looks like a red poinsettia, don't you think?

Okay, I thought about stitching the sentiment and year directly on to the red wool backing.

But I really wanted this to be a simple project, since I was making several....

So I pulled out my little alphabet and number stamps and used permanent  Stazon Ink.

It won't run or fade... Easy Peasy!

I cut them out and stitched with my sewing machine.

I sewed a simple hanger in to the circle and...voila...done! 

I look forward to giving these away as well as hanging them on my own tree.

One more ornament idea.....

As I was coloring in this pretty Rose Window design 

I was thinking that the very center circle kind of looked like a halo.

I had the perfect idea for making angel babies to hang on the tree! 

I started by using yellow distress ink on a heavy watercolor paper 

and just stenciling the center part of the design.

I didn't worry too much about being accurate since I was cutting 

the parts I didn't want to use away.

I had taken a picture of my new grandbaby all swaddled up in his snuggie.

I played around with the picture in my editing program and sized him just right. 

Then I fussy cut around the body..... 

I had some wings come to me from the RubberMoon Mail Club that were just the right size!

I stamped several on to a scrap piece of tissue paper, cut them out,

When I had it just right I used Liquitex Matte Medium

to glue it all down onto the heavy paper with the baby's head right in the center.

I made sure to put the wings into the 'keep' part.

The last touch on these little cherub was to use Liquid Pearls by Ranger

on his little wings for dimension and shine! 

Just make sure you let it dry before touching it or you will have a mess!

I fussy cut the whole shape out...punched a little hole for the hanger...

found some gold string.....and wrote my message on the back....

Hmmm...How many aunts and uncles and grandparents do I need to give these to?
