For this wall bunting, I used supplies I already had in my studio!
I began by cutting vintage maps into triangles. You can create a triangle template and make any size triangle you'd like!
My triangles are 6-inches across. You can use any paper you'd like, too!
Next, I used my Fiskars Apron Lace Border Punch across the top edge of each triangle.
I added lettering using Carolyn Dube's Jumbo Vintage Typewriter Alphabet Letters A-P and
Jumbo Vintage Typewriter Alphabet Letters Q-Z stencils, a small dauber and white acrylic paint.
I created the "O" in "JOY" with my Latitude and Longitude stencil.
Then I wove silver elastic ribbon/cord through the top edges of the triangles.
I made an 8-inch round world to incorporate, painting Unbleached Titanium onto 300-pound cold press watercolor paper,
then stenciling Cobalt Green through Around The World Longitude.
I cut out the circular shape, punched a hole at the top and used a small brass fastener to help hold more silver cord.
The world hangs in the center of the bunting!
I hope I've inspired you to incorporate StencilGirl stencils into your decor!
Happy Holidays!!
This is so clever, Mary -- and beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cecilia! It was a lot of fun to make!
DeleteThis is so you, and so cool! I think someone on Facebook said you should leave this up all the time... I agree! Love it! And love the idea of making pennants from maps :D
