Maria popping in today to show you an Art Journal page that I made. Quite a few layers in these pages and more stencils than I even realized I used until I started to write this post :)
I started out with a blank spread and used my Layered Circles and Squares stencil making a background by just layering it over and over with the same 3 colors--yellow, orange and pink.
I really had no intention of making an Art Journal page when I started this. I was just playing with the stencil. Of course, one thing led to another and I kept going.
You can see that I added my Doodle It Inchie stencil to the page a few times over the background. I love the Doodle look it gives without doing all the detail by hand. I also was playing with some stencils by Roxanne Evans Stout. For me it is always the birds! LOVE these by Roxanne. Nature Notes, Nature's Promoises and Nature's Gatherings.
Of course, now I had Doodles from stencils, birds and my other go to is always words...no better than to use the Verbage stencil from Carolyn Dube. I love being able to pick and choose my words and make my own sentiments for my journal pages. Then the final details, always my FAVORITE part...a little doodling (this time from my hand) and it was done.
I think the best thing I took away from this was that sometimes you get you most favorite pages when you don't plan on making one!
Thanks for stopping by!
