Playing with StencilGirl Stencils & DecoArt Media Acrylic Paints

Julia Kellogg here today....I've been having fun playing with DecoArt - Media Acrylics and StencilGirl stencil. Working with lots and lots of layers!!!  This paint has an incredible texture, smooth, great colors and dry's fast.
Started with L306 Traci Bautista's Flower Party Stencil and white gesso to create a resist.
Used DecoArt - Media Misters in Red, Primary Yellow and Orange - layer, layer, layer!  The above  stencil was designed by Mary Beth Shaw and was part of the October Stencil Club...this stencil works very well with layering.  I kept turning it around and adding color.
Once satisfied, I then added a final layer using Traci's L311 Tropical Floral Stencil and DecoArts Black Gesso.  There is a lot of depth and the black gesso really pops.  Using a white pen I then highlighted portions of the stencil to add even more depth.
Pulling a portion of the page out I then loaded it into PicMonkey and added the hearts digitally.  If you get a chance go check out this paint line, it's terrific!
Enjoy and have fun playing with paint!

  1. I love how this turned out! Great layers and colors - especially the black! I tend to forget how cool it can be, so this is inspiring me to try and use it more!
