Julia Kellogg here today....I've been having fun playing with DecoArt - Media Acrylics and StencilGirl stencil. Working with lots and lots of layers!!! This paint has an incredible texture, smooth, great colors and dry's fast. |
Started with L306 Traci Bautista's Flower Party Stencil and white gesso to create a resist. |
Used DecoArt - Media Misters in Red, Primary Yellow and Orange - layer, layer, layer! The above stencil was designed by Mary Beth Shaw and was part of the October Stencil Club...this stencil works very well with layering. I kept turning it around and adding color. |
Once satisfied, I then added a final layer using Traci's L311 Tropical Floral Stencil and DecoArts Black Gesso. There is a lot of depth and the black gesso really pops. Using a white pen I then highlighted portions of the stencil to add even more depth. |
Pulling a portion of the page out I then loaded it into PicMonkey and added the hearts digitally. If you get a chance go check out this paint line, it's terrific!
Enjoy and have fun playing with paint!

I love how this turned out! Great layers and colors - especially the black! I tend to forget how cool it can be, so this is inspiring me to try and use it more!
