Tina here today with a super fun and super easy way to create a Home Decor project, inspired by nature.
I love to take ordinary objects, such as a raw piece of wood, and turn it into something decorative and artsy. And when these DIY projects are easy and fun, it's an extra bonus.
Let's start! But before we begin, I have a confession to make. This was another one of those projects that started off looking entirely different than the end result (I'll share a peek of that project later on in the post) but that is why creating is fun!
The creative process is simple.
Step One
Paint your raw wood base with a thin layer of gesso. Dry completely. Sand edges for a distressed look.
Step Two
Place Windswept Tree Stencil on wood piece and dab black acrylic paint over stencil. Repeat process on three wood blocks, placing the stencil in different locations on each block. Dry completely.

Step Three
Sand wood blocks to aged look. To increase the aged effect, distress with stain or ink.
You could also add words or other designs to each wood piece if desired.
Are you ready for the original 'finished' project? I was looking for more of a contrast, so that is why I went with the black/white vs. tones of brown.
Finish each wood block by painting the edges and back. Done!
I hope you are inspired! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
Beautiful, Tina! Simple but so effective! :)
