ATCs, a Canvas, Art Journal Pages, and 2 Planners by Our Creative Team for August's Throwback Thursday

Whee! We've got the projects! Get inspired!
Schedule your days in two fun art planners, usher in Halloween with ATC cards, stencil in your journal or on a canvas with our CreativeTeam members!

Anna Friesen ~ Using stencils in my unPlanner/Art Journal!

I used the Spinners Stencil by Terri Stegmiller here, adding white paint through the stencil over a colorful brayered background. I placed the "circles" on the stencil design down randomly, adding some finger-painting around each circular shape. I'm always dreaming up ways to make circles, so this stencil really appealed to me.

For another page in my unPlanner, I used the Striped Circles by Terri Stegmiller as the backdrop for hopefully some journal entries. I love using white paint through a stencil over bright painted pattern, toning it down, but with some pattern remaining. I can see myself adding lots of words to this layout, as the stencil design has the cool lines built right in.
Here is a link to my bog for a more detailed post about my planner and a video!

Kristie Taylor ~ Red Daisy Canvas

I love to just sit and play, and sometimes playing with the some of the first StencilGirl stencils can get my creative juices flowing. I used Jennifer Evans' Daisy Wildflowers stencil to paint the focal for this canvas.

For this project, I wanted to use the stencils with smaller openings to give interest and color to the background so that the main image would pop. The Optical Large stencil by Michelle Ward was a perfect one to use for that.

I also used several StencilClub stencils. If you haven't joined the club yet, you need to!

Gwen Lafleur ~ Spooky ATCs

I made six Halloween themed ATC cards for a swap group I'm in using the Hats stencil by Orly Avineri.

I'll have close-up photos of the cards along with an overview of how they came together in a post that will be live beginning on August 18th:

Karen Gaunt ~ Where My Story Begins

I loved the whimsical flowers and the little house of Jamie Fingal's stencil and I wanted to use them to create a little scene.

By sectioning off different elements of the stencil using some washi tape I was able to easily move the designs around and create a completely new one of my own design.

Marleen van Meerendonk ~ Next Year's Agenda

I made my agenda for 2017 already! I made so many gelli prints with stencils  by Seth Apter and was thinking... What can I do with these? Using them in my agenda is an awesomely useful and I'll be able to be inspired by my nice prints everyday.
