Our newest stencil designer's artwork has an unmistakably sweet verve whether she is creating with flowers and fabric or paper and pastels.
If you followed our 2016-17 Creative Team you'll surely recognize her name!
The Basics
The Basics Stencil series by Tammy Tutterow builds on her love of what she calls “pantry staples”. She believes there are certain basics that every artist and crafter needs in their supply stash, just like flour and sugar are basic items in your kitchen pantry. Staples include go-to patterns like polka dots, ginghams, plaids, and simple posies that mix and match with stamps, dies, and other stencils easily!
Basics Stencils feature two designs on each 9” x 12” stencil. The two sections feature the same design in two different sizes. The designs are sized to fit on card fronts, tags, journal pages, and other small projects. Basics are great for layering over solid or stenciled backgrounds.
The basic patterns make it easy to create your own background pattern paper using inks, sprays, and paints. Apply texture paste, embossing powders, or resist products through the stencil to create more contrast and texture to your background. They aren’t limited to basic techniques though, they work great with more advanced techniques and products for monoprinting, masking, dry embossing and more!
