What size art journal do you work in? I have many sizes going but lately I really love picking up my small pocket journal for some quick art time.
It's a quick and easy way to create art without feeling like you have to create a big spread in your journal. I really enjoy working small.
Let me walk you through the steps to create this small page with some fun quick and easy techniques.
Start by by adding a few colors of gelatos on your gessoed page. I love the bright colors of gelatos!
Next blend the colors with a cosmetic sponge. You can also use your fingers which I do a lot.
Now add another color and blend it in.
Pull color off with a stencil and a baby wipe. I love the negative effect of this and I love this stencil. I used the Coiled Wire stencil.
Add some drips by scribbling the gelato at the top and then wetting it with water on a paintbrush. Look at the great layers we have already created and have just been working for a few minutes.
Next stencil a focal image on top of the layers. I used the Kandinsky's Garden stencil. Such a fun stencil! By using white paint it makes the cute trees stand out from the bright background and is an unexpected color to use.
Now add some doodling and details with pens and pencils.
And there you have it! A quick and easy way to sneak some art time in during your busy days! I hope you find some time to create!
