Sun Printing with your favorite StencilGirl® stencils

Hello and Happy Thursday!

Tina Walker here today with a super fun project that I hope you try.  Sun Printing has been around forever, but it's not something I've actually ever tried.  The concept and effect really sparked my curiosity, but I wanted to try it 'Tina Style'.  So I pulled out some of my favorite StencilGirl® Stencils and started the experimentation fun!

The technique is easy peasy!  Place your object (in my case, a stencil AND object) on the sun printing paper and let the sun do it's magic.  The sun paper is blue when you first put it into the sunlight.....

then it turns white when it's done....

Special Tip:  Since the paper works creating an image from an opaque object, it's best that you use stencils that have been well loved (as above) or paint the stencils with black paint to create an opaque image (as below).  And you have cool under paper as a bonus!

Once the paper is ready, you immediately bring it indoors and give a short rinse in water.  This stops the reaction for occurring. The paper turns a beautiful shade of blue once it dries.

What do you do with these gorgeous, 'stenciled by the sun' papers?  Make a mini book, of course!

I grabbed several colors of ColourBlast Artist Inks ,ColourBlast Paste, and more wonderful stencils to create fabulous layers of color, shapes, and texture.

Stencils Used:
Pickleweed Mini
Beautiful Halo
Circles Circles
Alpha Jumble Large
Unconnected Circles
Stitched One
Military Style Stars

Don't the inks and pastes look divine on the sun papers?  I love this look! ♥
I also added some doodling and pen work to each page for more fun!

Now that my pages were done, I folded them in half, and created a mini book.  Creating really can't be more easy and fun!

Sun Printing really expanded my creative play and I couldn't be happier with the end result!  I hope you try this with your favorite StencilGirl® stencils!  We'd love to see your creations!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a wonderful day!
