some of my favorite
art works created with my stencil designs, both by myself and by my students!
One
of the highest points last year was doing a workshop in Mary Beth Shaw's
amazing studio in Saint Louis, and the very next day filming collage
stories!
I
used some of my newer stencil designs and loved the projects that my students
and I made.
"Collage Stories" my online workshop with StencilGirl® Products was born and if you haven't taken this online course yet, it is
wonderful!!!
I
used a variety of my stencil designs in these pieces during this workshop:
You
can find this sweet turtle design here:
I
loved creating this bear, drawing him reminded me of the little bears that
the
Pueblo Indians carved and sculpted in Taos, New Mexico.
This
little bird stencil design was created by a lovely student in The Netherlands,
where I was invited to teach last year. I love her colors and layers of collaged
material! This bird is called Songbird of Hope:
These
shields are some of my favorite symbols and this page was created in a workshop
in Taos, New Mexico called Fragment Keepers. I love the colors here! This stencil, "Journey" has a lot
to choose from to add to your art!
The
following are pages from a workshop I taught at Art and Soul in Portland a few
years ago.
Don't you love the colors and backgrounds?
This
magnificent horse design is called Moon Gazer and I created this
art piece in a book made of plastered pages.
And
this hawk was created in the same book:
This
is a stencil design called Forest Floor and it is much fun to work
with, in parts or as a whole!
Here
are some of my students working with several of my stencil designs at Way Art
Yonder in Jamul, California!
And
here are pages from the same workshop!
I've
been experimenting with Venetian plaster and modeling paste...
these are my
results from Circles in the Sand which I share in my Daydreams and
Window Light online workshop!
Designing
stencils has enriched my life. Drawing them keeps me connected to more
representational images, especially while my other work can be abstract.
I
would love for you to take a live or online workshop from me and I am filled
with gratitude of this beautiful life where I can design stencils, create and
meet people from all over the world, like You!
Beautiful work Roxanne! I’m always so inspired by your connection to nature and the innovative techniques you share!
