Using StencilGirl Stencils to Create an Intuitive Painting

My Process:
I use stencils to jump start creativity. The quality and variety of StencilGirl® Products makes this process even more enjoyable. This project is painted with acrylics and then the ornament shapes are carved out with gesso and further embellished with water soluble pencils/crayons.

Carol Spohn is a watercolor/mixed media artist and instructor from Saint Paul Minnesota where she lives with her husband Cozzie and two cats. Carol recently retired to be a full time artist and instructor. She is a popular instructor at painting conventions and art retreats, sharing her joy of painting with students throughout the country.

Carol believes everyone has a creative spirit and her classes are a perfect opportunity to learn techniques enabling students to nurture their skills. Her philosophy is to embrace the joy and not make art so hard. Make one decision at a time and see where that leads you.
