Letting Loose - Fall Abstract Journal Spread with StencilGirl Stencils

Recently I have really been enjoying some loose and free play in my art journal. When I began art journaling years ago, the whole purpose was for me to have a practice where I could relax and work through some feelings and emotions. When I began posting my pages on Instagram, I started seeing a shift from "letting lose" to "making what I think people like to see."

In the last year or so I have really been going back to letting loose and just spilling on my pages, and I've seen a shift in both myself and my art.

I have also tried to stop worrying about this style or that style, this medium or that one, and more just focused on being myself.

That's where this spread comes in.

Something that has been fueling my creativity is layering random collage with stenciling and flowy paint. There's no right or wrong, just freedom to create.

In this spread, I was feeling the fall vibes, which led me to using Sedona Dina Wakley Media paint with my trusty Payne's Grey ink and coffee grounds.
It's my hope that this video/process inspires you to create without an end result in mind. Just let loose and let what happens happen!
