My art journal is my favorite place to experiment and try new things. Each of my art journals (and there are a lot) have a different feeling and style, mostly by accident. I never plan what's going to go in one, but each journal lends itself to a different style and type of experimentation.
I got this square Strathmore journal and it felt perfect for trying out some abstract ideas and experiments.
After having made some new collage papers by color blocking with my gelli plate, I wanted to try it in an abstract type painting. It really works for laying color down and not letting it get too muddy, which is awesome. That being said, it didn't quite turn out the way that I had envisioned in my mind, but that's okay!
I also happened to receive my newest order of StencilGirl Stencils, so this page was a match made in experimentation heaven!
