Mixed Media Stitching Tools

Mixed Media Stitching Tools

Using a needle like a paintbrush and thread as paint, I love to respond to the canvas of paint stenciled on fabric with mixed media stitching! I made a video describing the basics of types of needles, uses of different threads, and a few tips to make your stitching go easier. Take a gander here: Mixed Media Stitching Tools

After watching, please post any questions below and I will do my best to answer! Thanks so much and Happy Stitching!
A stencil I designed, Thinking of You, on an apron and adorned with Running Stitch, Satin Stitch and French Knots.

My new thread/floss organizational system.

All the different weights and types of thread/floss I use.

Truth: You can never have too many needles.

  1. Kristin, This is beautiful. Do you have any tips on doing the satin stitch to keep it smooth? mine always look lumpy.
