Anouk (Creanouk) - Stencils I use on a daily basis

Hello you beautiful artist,
This is my second year as a member of the Stencilgirl® Creative Team and I've worked with so many beautiful and diverse stencils. Even though I'm not a person who picks favourites every easily, there are a few stencils that really stole my heart. I always have them at arms reach on my desk, because I know that I'll grab them whenever I'm playing. These stencils also inspire me when I'm in a creative desert or if I don't know what to create. They are one of my go-toes products for when I'm desperately needing a spark to create.

So you can see this blogpost as a tribute to the stencils I use on a daily basis. And hopefully you can find some inspiration in how I used them.

Mark Making

I like to start off with mark making stencils. There was a time were I would sit down with my journal and a Posca pen to made tons of marks on my page. But ever since I got these stencils, I rather be using them. It's quick, easy and you can use them in so many ways!

My favourite stencils for mark making are:

Floral Frolics

One of my most used stencil is Floral Frolics. I like how this stencil is so diverse. It has flowers, mark making and a very nice pattern. I often use it as a ghosting background in my softer journals. Or as focal point with modeling paste. I like how you can use the different elements on their own but it also looks good when you use the whole stencil.

Bali Doily Stencil

The Bali Doily Stencil is probably the stencil that I use the most in combination with my gel press. The lace look that this stencil has gives a very nice texture to my prints. It's also very nice to use with gel medium or modeling paste for a more in depth background.

Vintage General Store List

Maybe this stencil will beat Floral Frolics as my most used stencil. I just can't get over the beautiful but subtile vintage vibe that Vintage General Store List adds to my pages. My favourite way to use it is with modeling paste or as a final layer to blend all the previous layers together. And I always have a few old book pages on my desk with this stencil that I can use in collage, because adding this to any page is a good idea.

Of course there are many more Stencilgirl® stencils that I love using. If I would mention them all this would become a very long blog. I hope that highlighting a few of them will help you to be creative with the stencils that you have and love. Because if you create with a product or supply that you adore, it's easier to make art that you love.

Thank you so much for reading my blog post. I hope that I have inspired you to create today! My name is Anouk or Creanouk on social media, and I'm an all-round creative from the Netherlands. I love art journaling because I can put my heart and soul into it. You can find my work on Instagram and Youtube.
