now this I can do too and I have found a use for all those coloured paper towels.
ReplyDeletehope this is not too early as it is Dec 9th over here in Australia
DeleteI get lost when it come to doing art. i am stuck on perfection and get frustrated with myself easily. i think this deck can be really helpful for me because i do follow directions. i make my own stencils to use with my gelli plate I've never used them any other way. so these prompts will force me to pull them out and use them in my journal too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this deck would definitely get me out of my creative box! I love the freedom and spontaneity of the cards; you don't have to think about what to do next, they tell you! And you can choose to do what it says or not. And knowing there's a card already suggesting to use more than one stencil would encourage me to use what I have more often.
ReplyDeleteGoing through the "Yucks" was definitely worth it!! The end result is wondrous!
I loved your video. I LOVE stencils and have many. I often get stuck on what to do next after using a stencil. I think this deck would be a great help to my muse so we can get unstuck !
ReplyDeleteGreat video - know exactly that 'yuck moment' and then coming out into the light (on a good day!). And what light in your final page - I love those vivid colours emerging from the black. Love the deck, and even though I don't need much encouragement to use stencils, I think it would really encourage me to grab for the less-used ones to layer even more together... it's a great tool.

ReplyDeleteThis deck would get me using not just stencils more, but other supplies, too ... just in seeing all the work done in this blog hop has opened my eyes to all the out-of-the-box uses for the stuff lurking in my studio. I want to play!
ReplyDeleteYay, Jennifer!!! I'm so delighted to see what you've written here -- don't we all have that "stuff" lurking about in our studio??? I know I do. Let's play!!!

ReplyDeleteThis deck is a sure fire way to get anyone out of the creative doldrums! Thanks Miss K, and Miss M for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThank you Miss D, for hopping along with us. Be sure to visit all of the blogs before tomorrow so you can be entered to win as many times a possible.
DeleteThe finished page is gorgeous!! Looked like it was fun to do what the cards prompted and I very much liked seeing your progression! It would be great to have the deck of cards to shake things up or help when I don't feel very inspired.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did. Nice creation. TFS. That reminds me, I need more stencils. lol
ReplyDeleteDiana!!! I like the way you're thinking -- "I need more stencils" too :-). Thank goodness for StencilGirl and the StencilClub!!
DeleteLove what you did Maria. What a wonderful tool to have. I would love to win this!
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to win this amazing deck! Thank you sooo much!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us the video, I love your results!
ReplyDeleteI Love this idea! I find myself doing the same thing over and over again and would really enjoy thinking outside my own box for ideas. Plus, I have so many stencils I seem to be "collecting" and not using. I'm sure I'm the only one doing this too. : ) Your page is great and an inspiration for my art table for today. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! and I too love your results!
ReplyDelete~Linda
It came out beautiful! Great video. I'm going to have to get myself a deck for the holidays!
ReplyDeleteI love your final results, it is a beautiful piece. I would love to win this, it would be a big help when I find my art blocked.
ReplyDeleteWOW! That butterfly has been through some amazing metamorphoses. There is often a point in a painting where you don't know where to go next. These cards would be a way to solve this and combined with stencils there is no limit to what you could do.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you put that, Jo -- "no limit to what you can do" -- that's a great mantra for an artist to live by!!!! Thanks for hopping along with us.
DeleteSo many stencils, so little time. I have several Stencilgirl stencils that I want to try and use in combination with spray inks and paint and pens and paper and ........ Would love to win an Inspiration Deck to prompt me to try new ideas.
ReplyDeleteAwesome....nice way to use combo's and not have to think about it. Love to win these!
ReplyDeleteI love how your project turned out and would love to win an Inspiration Deck for my own projects.
ReplyDeleteOh love stencils, and not sure anything would help me use them all. But I'd still love these cards!
ReplyDeleteLove stencils, but find myself always using just a couple of favorites; maybe the cards would help push me outside of my comfort zone with more exploration.
ReplyDeleteThis post pretty much sums up that there are no boundaries!! The process of the art using those cards is incredible!
ReplyDeleteReally love how your project turned out Maria. It is a really fun process using the cards.
ReplyDeleteGreat project and I can see these cards would be very helpful for someone like me who is just getting started in this awesome art. I never know where to go after I start. I love the idea of these cards. I saw Carolyn Dube use them not too long ago and loved the idea. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching the video. Thanks for showing us how you used the MMID to create your art piece, Maria. I think that the deck would push me when I'm stuck and give me ideas to use stencils in different ways as well as give me other ideas to jump start me when I am at a standstill in an art piece. Thanks for the chance to win a deck.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous result! I love how the cards throw some kismet into the process. Is there a card that says USE SOMETHING YOU'RE HOARDING? That be quite helpful! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to pull out my stencils and use the Deck to inspire me! Off to find my good pen, paints, tissue paper,,,,so exciting!
ReplyDeleteThis deck will be great to get me using my stencils in ways that I'd not thought of! Can't wait to try the deck!
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much from this blog hop. I love what you have done with this journal page. It just goes to prove my thoughts that these cards perform so many duties from giving prompts, to teaching how to add layers. What a great tool
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Maria. I enjoyed your voiceover for the video, too! I love musings artists go through.
ReplyDeleteSince starting is always the hardest part for me, I would use the prompts as a jumping off point. I use stencils in everything from paper to fiber work so there would be stencils used, prompt or not :) textilerecycler@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me a chance to win that wonderful, lovely deck of cards from Kiala. It would be very useful in my art journaling and the stencils will also be used of course, if you draw that kind of card. Greetings from Holland. Cindy J. (email: cindygroet(at)gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThis deck looks like a blast and will help me think about how to pair my stencils with some "outside the box" media. Thanks for the chance to win! sarah at liveitoutblog dot com
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with all the stencils!! Very fun.
ReplyDeleteMaria, you are so very talented! I love how you used Kiala's deck! Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow, that white doodling sure did add a lot to your piece. Great job. Thanks for sharing your process.
ReplyDeleteThe deck is genius, no more do we need to fear the blank page, or do the same thing with our usual supplies! Love use of these stencils, and thank you for the chance to win the deck! Janet
ReplyDeleteusing stencils as a starting point-then use the prompts to add to the page-and incorporating a layer of stencils after the starting point-did that make sense? :)
ReplyDeleteIt might actually get me to use all the stencils! I have some that I use again and again and others that are untouched....
ReplyDeleteI love this idea - what terrific inspiration! I'd love to use these :) Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI JUST saw this giveaway and I JUST found out yesterday what the deck is all about. I need it --- I always sit in between layers and think instead of just going for it!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I frequently waste a lot of time trying to figure out what I should do next. Now I can see there is an easy and fun way to deal with this situation
