Are you ready to see how our team used the November StencilClub stencils designed by Seth Apter???
We are pretty darn excited about these stencils!
Below we will see what Janet Joehlin, Mary C. Nasser and Gwen Lafleur did with them. Your sure to get TONS of inspiration!
Hello Stencil Lovers!
I wanted to show you how I used Seth Apter's
November StencilClub Stencils in my Daily.
I LOVE the 9x12" stencil...
but not sure how I can use the whole thing in my 5x8" Daily.
So I started out by just tracing TRUTH across the top there.
I liked it...a lot. Hmmmm.....How about LOVE...and HOPE....
I picked the letters and placed them where I wanted them.
The only letter I had to adjust was the R to a P.
Nice. I see using more of these in the future!
And then the 6x6" stencil....PERFECT!
I might begin using this in every beginning page to every Daily I ever do!
Here are two!
Great job Seth! Awesome stencils! Thanks!
Hi! Mary Nasser here to share what I've been making with the November StencilClub stencils!
What a treat that Seth Apter designed this month's stencils!
The play with positive and negative shapes in these is fantastic!
They act as both stencils and masks.
And it's so cool that Seth designed these exclusively for StencilClub members!
These designs were PERFECT for Week 39 of The Documented Life Project!
The Art Challenge was Storyboard, and the Journal Prompt: "A Week in the Life...."
Below is my page I created:
And here's a detailed photo:
I also played with Seth's mini Off and On design in my smaller mixed media art journal:
This set is DELIGHTFUL and I know I'll get LOTS of use out of these!! Thanks, Seth!
Hi Everyone, this is Gwen
with another project using this month's fabulous StencilClub collection. I just love these stencils... can you tell? In fact, I may have gone a bit overboard (I'm using the excuse that I was in my new house with nothing else to do while I waited for the moving truck to deliver my stuff. That works, right?)
For this month, I thought these stencils lent themselves perfectly to an idea I've wanted to do for a while - making an art journal out of file folders. I took three plain, manila file folders and nested them together then poked holes and stitched them with waxed thread. Then it was time to play! Here are a few photos of the five spreads I made with the stencils in my mini journal:
I used a lot of repetition of the words from the stencils and I used the textural elements all over the place with ink, paint, and molding paste. I also took a few notes from my class with Seth at Art is You - Stamford last month and added in some windows, pockets, and a few interactive elements.
The last spread has two interactive elements - here you can see what's under the tag and flap on these pages:
I've posted the entire mini art journal on my blog if you want to see more details and close-ups of how I used this month's stencils in my project. I hope you all enjoy this month's stencils just as much as I did!
