The Premiere of New Stencil Designer Margaret Peot's 10 Stencils

Margaret Peot's stencil designs open up a world of possibilty for creating book cloth, art journal and scrapbook page backgrounds, gift wrap, paintings, greeting cards and fabric play.

Scarab Beetles

Jewels of Ancient Egypt, the insect art of Christopher Marley, Cabinets of Curiousity: these were the inspiration for this 9 x 12 Scarab Beetle stencil, L559.

L560 Dragonfly Background

For Margaret, dragonflies are creatures of change and “going deeper.” Glinting greens and blues and golds over a summer pond are a fond memory of her childhood.

Bunnies Blooms & Birds Stencils

The Scattered Bunnies Blooms & Birds Background, L558, features a tiny meadow’s worth of flora and fauna.

The Birds and Bunnies Stencil, L561, gives the stencil user “main characters” for their stenciling projects. Use the animals individually on throw pillows, a stenciled base for embroidery, or tuck them into a stenciled meadow using with coordinates L558 Scattered Bunnies Blooms & Birds Background and L562 Scattered Flowers Background.

Use the 9 x 12 Scattered Flowers Background, L562, to print blooms and foliage for custom quilt fabric, as a beginning for an embroidery project, or the pages of a spring-ing forward journal. You can mask out individual blossom stems!

L565 Looping, Leafy Vines Background

The 9 x 12 Looping, Leafy Vines stencil can add tone-on-tone interest to a journal page, or become a starting place for a collage. These vines could be used to print a set of tea towels, be used to print custom quilt fabric, or as a beginning of an embroidery masterpiece.

L563 Impressionist Water Lily Background

Water lilies recede into the distance on this stencil. Use with pastel colors in a painting. It's perfect for a a water lily border on a dress, enhanced with ribbon flowers. Coordinates with L564 Impressionist Brush Textures.

L564 Impressionist Brush Textures (Four)

The paintings of the impressionists inspired Margaret to design this stencil. They can be used to build up painterly layers to build a dreamy natural world, perfect for accenting a gardening journal.

L567 Woodcut Blossoms Background

At the costume shop where Margaret works, they often need stencils to lay in texture to add interest and depth to a plain piece of fabric. This stencil has a plain textural quality, but also can be perceived as floral, undersea life, coral, lichen texture. It was Margaret's intention to make a super useful, super flexible 9 x 12 stencil! Use with reverse coordinate L566 Woodcut Blossom Background Inverted (pictured below).

We hope you enjoy these new stencils as much as we enjoy bringing them to you!

Check out Margaret's post on her blog too! She took her stencils to the beach.
