StencilClub Voices let Script flow into their art...

Hello to you from this month's StencilClub Voices, Carol Burger, Debbie Fabbri, Jessica Hitt Bullock and myself, Carol Baxter.

Script flowed across the covers and pages of our art journals and collage papers!

Cecilia Swatton designed Script exclusively for StencilClub members.

Debbie Fabbri's Collage Pages

"I love these stencils!" Debbie says. "They make beautiful backgrounds and I have made extras so I can cut them up and use them in future collages."

Jessica Hitt Bullock Couldn't Stop Making Art

"I love these stencils and they are so easy to use to create a beautiful background," Jessica says.

Project 1: Bible Journaling
"I used Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks to run on a sheet of paper placed on top of the stencil. I tore the strips and glued them down to create a background for my collage."

2: This is an art journal mixed media page in which I used acrylic paint to create a background with the May stencils. I did add Distress Oxide in Walnut to the edges using the stencil and splattered with water to create a textured look.

3: “Outnumbered” Art journal mixed media spread in which I used canvas pages and acrylic paint with the stencil. I used Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays to soften the lines. The collage was made with extra paper and the smaller two stencils with an acrylic paint base and Distress Oxide stenciled portion.

I write for a living, so overwriting and scribbling does not come naturally. The flowing Script stencils Cecilia Swatton designed forced me gently out of my comfort zone. I added handmade washi tape someone made me, and some cut up pics. I was in a happy zone by the time I finished.

Need Script in your art tool kit? You know you do!

  1. Interesting ideas here. I think one of Jessica Hitt Bullock's images was repeated - project #1 image is missing.

  5. Jessica, I love your unique approach to Bible journaling! You have put into action the desire of every believer's heart, to give the Lord glory; and in so doing, you're using His gift in a way that goes on giving, when others see your artwork. And as the designer of this set, I want to thank you for your skill in using it! :-)

    1. Thank you for your sweet words! God has used Bible Journaling to deepen my walk with Him and for that I am truly grateful! I LOVE these stencils you have designed and know they will be favorites. 😁❤️

  6. Carol Burger, I'm still stammering the word WOW-WOW-WOW! What material did you use to create this heavenly journal cover? Have you written directions for this wonderful technique? I looked for a link but didn't see one. Could be my fault -- my brain is scattered in these days leading up to my daughter's bridal shower! Gulp!

  7. Apologies to everyone! This morning I got confused as to who was who, so I've deleted my earlier comments, most of which were directed to the wrong artists! Sorry! I think I have it straight now.

  8. Debbie, as the designer of this set, I want to thank you for your skill in using it! I love your bold colors and striking designs!

  9. Carol Baxter, thank you for getting my head on straight! What would I do without you!? I think I've changed my comments to get them paired with the right names. Sorry!!
