Art Journal to brighten your day with Natalie May

Hey there Stencil fans!

Today was a cold and rainy day here in Adelaide and I felt the need to punch out something bright and happy on a page to lift my mood.

I seem to have some 'go-to' colour combinations that just work every time so I brushed on some colour, overlapping it gently and covering my page completely.

I then used the X Rows Stencil on a angle with some yellow to add some contrasting colour and then the Circles Layer Me Stencil to add some blended teal across the page.

Next it needed some more pops of colour so a nice bright pink using the Random Circles followed by some strong black Stripes Stencil.   I love the way the stripes make it really pop and suits the bold colours.

I then added some small outline dots using a white pen and the Circles Layer Me Stencil and then some light blue small crosses from X Rows Stencil over the top.

I also used a foam dot stamp with grey archival ink to add a few dots over the top then stamped again over the top with a glittery glaze to add a little shimmer.

Using paint pens, I added a few small marks and then used Vintage Typewriter and some white paint to add my strong, bold phrase.

As a bonus, to use up any excess paint, I used the opposite page in my journal to clean up my brushes and sponges!

I am loving this mood lifting Art Journal page! Perfect for adding colour to my day!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day

Natalie May
