Hello Creatives! Kirsten here with another bookmaking adventure using the exclusive April StencilClub selections by Mary Beth Shaw and Mary C. Nasser! They are gorgeous and I really like the different and complementary designs. One stencil is organic and the other is bold and graphic.
I was inspired to create an accordion book to showcase both design styles. As I perused my various bookbinding books I found myself drawn to the Venetian Blind book structure. (Alisa Golden shared this structure in her book, Painted Pages, and I highly suggest you check it out.) It is an accordion book that has a cord and bead for a closure.
I chose to have eight panels in my books but you could do as little as four or have more than eight. Use this structure as a card, an artist book or a portfolio showcasing your artworks. The options are endless!
You can check out all the details in my video tutorial below!
Happy Creating!

Thanks for sharing the video of your creative process. I love the cord system. Is your intention that people who might buy such a thing from you will use them for writing or collaging or some purpose ? Maybe they are just themselves. Maybe you don't sell them. I love to make little books but only have so much storage space so I have to consider how I might market them. Thanks again for sharing. The painting process is really fun and I have lots of Stencil Girl stencils.
ReplyDeleteGreat video and love the stencils! Can you please tell me what the music was in the video?
