The social unrest in our country has been upsetting for all of us at StencilGirl® Products.

I can say unequivocally we are AntiRacist and Black Lives Matter.

We are looking to offer more diversity in our stencil choices and inclusivity in our Artist Designers.

As I was pondering these times, I went back into my memory bank for a story..........

I am sad to report that Sam the Dot Man died in 2018. I found a nice article about him that you can read. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing more about him and the success he achieved as an artist.

Yay, Sam!! Your legacy lives on.

At the beginning of 2020, I had the feeling this would be a remarkable year, but of course, I missed the mark as to WHY it would be remarkable.  Turns out that my ideas about StencilGirl® Products 10th anniversary, my upcoming birthday celebrating a new decade (ahem) and my grandson graduating from high school were NOT the reasons the year would be auspicious. 

No, you all know the reason, that li'l thing called a pandemic takes the prize.  

Celebrations have been gutted and life as we know it vastly changed. 

The new normal, they call it.

A Few Minutes with Mary Beth

I started out using rubber stamps way back in the '90s. I made greeting cards and that was pretty much it for many years. It wasn't until 2000 that I started learning about mixed media and subsequently started to exhibit my art, appear in juried competitions, then gallery shows. 

And now I own a stencil company. John and I recently attended Stampaway, in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a lot of fun and I thought you might enjoy a look around......

Just a few minutes with Mary Beth March 2019

I have been teaching at retreats and workshop venues for over ten years now. It is much like the world of art fairs (my prior occupation) in that I am a pack mule, except these days I transport supplies to each location rather than my actual artworks. You might not have considered that for each workshop taught, there are many many days behind the scene - developing samples, organizing the format of material taught, deciding on art materials to bring, develop and pack kits plus more. 

Not to mention the aftermath, returning home to collapse with exhaustion, yet full of new ideas and eager to do it all again. 

I recently taught at Creative Communion in Middletown, OH, a delightful venue where Glenda Miles has her studio and also facilitates a terrific classroom experience. Come along and watch snippets of my trip.....

And if you are looking for a weekend of creativity, consider the classes offered by Glenda at Creative Communion. An artsy restorative weekend was exactly what I needed! YUM!!

Hey, it's Mary Beth, back for another behind the scenes update. And I am going really behind the scenes today, ha! I am talking about my latest class at StencilGirl Studio. This one is near and dear my heart, one of my favorite topics, education! 

The idea behind StencilGirl Studio is to provide a simulated classroom experience - the equivalent to a one day class - that you can watch and/or binge on your own! Over and over if you want, there is no time limit. Hope you have time to check out the class offerings.
