Revolution Art Journal Page by Seth Apter

Hi stencil people. Seth Apter here. So happy to be back as a guest blogger on StencilGirl Talk.
Today I am sharing an old favorite of mine: my Insiders Outsiders stencil collection.
We all have our favorite go to colors, techniques or products. For me, it is all about creating depth and dimension through layering. That is why my Insiders Outsiders line has become a staple for me.

The stencils were created to work together to create unique, layered effects. My Outsiders Stencil is 9” x 12” and contains edgy outlines of 5 shapes: circle, square, bar, star and tag.
There are 2 versions of my Insiders: Urban and Techno, each of which consists of the same 5 stencil shapes. Here are the Urban Insiders:
The Insiders shapes were designed to nest perfectly inside the Outsiders outlines to give you more options for creating designs and layers.
If you look at many of my mixed media works, especially in my art journals, I often start by stenciling with the Insiders or Outsiders shapes and build up from there. They are the perfect component to build depth, interest and design. This is how my new work Revolution came to be.
