Mishmash Icon collage by kecia deveney

Hey everyone! Happy Summer. Guest artist, Kecia  Deveney here. I wanted to share a fun project I created using stencils and spray paints.

What I like to do is spray the stencil on the positive side first and then place It upside down as a release on a separate sheet of paper (as a negative) You can view the video I previously created working with spray paints using this technique. Most often, I prefer the negative image.

here are some of the positives and negatives:

for the halo  - "Angel Circle" by Kate Thompson #S271

----------------------------------------

"Create Face" by Pam Carriker #S646

----------------------------------------

"Alchemy" by Laurie Mika, #L783

-------------------------------------

"Bold Flowers" by Terri Stegmiller, #L281

----------------------------------------

(for the wings/arms) "Flower Pot Mask " by Suzi Dennis, #L398

---------------------------------------------

Next, I laid It out to audition the layout before gluing It to watercolor paper

-----------------------------------------------------

After the glue dried well, I then painted in the background. I wanted a grungey, weathered look. Lastly, I glued down black and white pompom fringe along the edge to create contrast and interest. I love how It turned out.
