December StencilClub Inspiration!

One of the wonderful things about StencilGirl stencils is that each artist who picks one up gets at the very least one "yessss! moment"
whether that is an
I know just where to place this stencil,
my art matches or exceeds my imagination,
or the emotions you create and allow other to see and feel.

Check out the color-intense visions of our team
Mary Nasser, Gwen LaFleur, and Janet Joehlin:

Hi! Mary Nasser here
to share what I've been making with the December StencilClub stencils!
What a treat that Mary Beth designed this month's stencils!
I love the gestural quality of the large stencils, the whimsical mark-making of the mini, and the graphic quality of the small...a delightful combination than complement each other wonderfully!

These designs were PERFECT for Week 45 of The Documented Life Project!
The Art Challenge was Stencils - Made or Bought!
Below is my page I created. I used the large stencil with the resist technique Mary Beth Shaw shared in her recent video, then added portions of the mini stencil in some of the negative spaces.
I left some negative spaces empty, and added scribble writing to others:

I also played with Mary Beth's small numbers design in my smaller black card-stock art journal,
and did some scribble journaling about what I'm looking forward to in 2016:

You're gonna love these!
Thanks, Mary Beth, for another Private Collection that does not disappoint!

Next up, it's Gwen
with more projects using this month's fantastic and exclusive private collection from Mary Beth Shaw.

This month I was getting ready to work on a spread in my Inspiration Journal (I've been doing Inspiration Wednesdays with Donna Downey - the only challenge I've managed to keep up with all year!) and this month's stencils were perfect for use in this week's challenge. Here's my art journal spread using the 6x6 and 4x4 stencils:
I scattered the numbers from the 6x6 throughout the page and then used the 4x4 inside my circles - I love how that turned out! Here you can see the spread with the inclusion flipped to the other side.
I think this is one of my favorite spreads in this journal! Of course, I couldn't stop there... I also did another art journal page in my junque journal using the 9x12 and 6x6 stencils.
Here's a little close-up of the numbers:
It's hard to see it in this photo, but the numbers have a dimensional glossy finish. I have a short little tutorial on my blog if you'd like to see how I made these.

I hope you're excited to get this month's stencils and that you love them as much as I do!

Janet here...
My turn to show you how I used the December StencilClub Stencils.
These number stencils are my favorite of the group.
I think they will fit perfectly in my Daily!

Like this....

It's easy to pick and choose and place the individual numbers right where you want them.
The large size of the numbers is a nice contrast to what I often use.
Also squeezed in there is the Imaginary Bird Feather Stencil.

I also added the gentle curves and spacing of the largest stencil as dividing lines.

I really like numbers and letters in my mixed media backgrounds too.
These in particular are so bold!
I stenciled the numbers onto a 4" matboard square from Inchie Arts....
Played with shading and colors...
and used a Golden High Solid Gel with the Repetition Stencil.

I see a series of these in my future!

And last but not least...a Journal cover.

I love the dimensional look of this.
It was quick and easy and so much fun
to play with colors and shading and blending!

Look at all the different styles and projects we came up with!
So many possibilities!
We hope we got your creative juices flowing!
And we hope you love these stencils the way we do!

If you aren't a member of the StencilClub, you should be!

See you there!
