Hello Stencil Lovers!
Janet here wanting to show you what I've worked on in my Daily
this past month as well as from the last couple Novembers.
I love the meditative work of medallions or mandalas.
These two are based on Moroccan Doily and the Dart Board Stencil.
The brick wall is from the November 2016 StencilClub Stencils
designed by Jessica Sporn, called Nature & Nurture.
November is from the Classic Stencil Font Alphabet by Mary Beth Shaw.
This has been a beautiful Autumn in Ohio.
I used the Texas Red Oak Stencil for my leaves and acorns.
See the Bullseye in my pumpkin?
It seemed like it belonged there!
I used parts of the Batik Stencil on my November 1 page.
I spray painted a Flat White Paint with a November 2016 StencilClub Stencil
and used layers of markers to add depth in the blues and oranges.
I started out with the Bullseye stencil rings penciled in
at the bottom of this entry...I felt it need leaves...
so it became a rainbow of changing colored leaves.
This Tell Your Story is a just released new stencil by Maria McGuire.
I love the whole line of them!
Below is one of my old favorites from my November 2014 Daily.
Another one from 2014 is this geometric,
November 2015 brought these flowers into my Daily Journal...
from this Heartfelt Stencil designed by Desiree Habicht.
And referring back to the November 2016 StencilClub set...
I used that 6x6 leaf overall on the cover of this small art journal
in a similar way to some of the above pages.
I spray painted some Rust-oleum flat white paint through the stencil
over top of the gessoed cover surface.
The different textures of the different paints cause a resist when markers
and thin paints are used to build the layers.
Then I used my favorite hand carved stamp as the border and Mary Beth Shaw's
Dart Board Stencil as the center 'flower'.
And I was totally inspired by the Tell Your Story stencil I used above
and wrote it freehand in the center of that flower.
It's been a fun month so far.
The holidays are coming up fast!
See you in December!
